Career fairs and events

VCU hosts career fairs during the fall and spring semesters. Each fair offers students and alumni the opportunity to network with employers from a wide range of industries. More information about career fairs and participating employers can be found on Handshake.

Although professional dress is not required to attend these events, it is recommended to support your best first impression with employers.

How to register for a career and internship fair

Register for any of our career fairs through Handshake. If you would like to discuss networking during a career fair, update your career materials, or update your professional wardrobe before attending a career fair, you can make a career advising or Suit Yourself Closet appointment through Handshake.

Talking Through Teamwork: A Student Leader Dialogue

Wednesday, December 3 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. | Talking Through Teamwork: A Student Leader Dialogue | Teamwork can be rewarding and challenging. In this interactive dialogue, student leaders will reflect on their own experiences working in groups, explore behaviors that build effective collaboration, and practice communication strategies that turn conflict into connection. Participants will engage in reflection, peer discussion, and a role-play scenario designed to strengthen leadership through dialogue.

Presented by: Marci Logsdon, Assistant Director of Student Leadership, Office of Student Leadership & Engaged Learning

Location: In-person at West Grace North, Room 1030J

Please note:

  • We encourage all departments with participating students to allow them to be paid (clocked in) for this opportunity, as supporting professional development time is customary across VCU. Ask your supervisor if they can support you in this way.
  • Stay tuned for information about a digital badge for participating in the monthly workshops in this series. Don’t miss this one so it can count towards recognizing your learning and development in this way.
  • Missed an earlier session in the series? Don’t worry; all past session content is available here. Note: If you are unable to attend this one but are interested in similar content (and in receiving a digital badge for engaging in all workshops in the series), there will be an alternative learning experience for any in-person sessions that are missed.
